The Birgitta trail is situated in the beautiful nature of the municipality of Lempäälä. The trail is approximately 50 km long and it offers different kinds of routes to everybody from professionals to families with children.
The forests in the Tampere region are a treasure trove of various berries, and everyone is allowed to pick them. Berries can be used for juices, liqueurs, jams, cooking and pastries. As they contain benzoic acid, they keep extremely well.

In 1992, 27 national landscapes were designated around Finland, in areas that particularly represent the special natural and cultural features of different regions. These well-known landscapes have great symbolic value and widely recognised significance in cultural and historical terms, or in the popular image of Finland’s natural landscapes.
Viikinsaari is a summer recreation island for the whole family, only a 20-minute boat trip away from the city centre. You can go to the island for a picnic or to experience one of the many events held there over the summer.
