The railway station in Tampere is located in the heart of the city, at the eastern end of Hämeenkatu, the main street.

Many of the city's hotels are situated within walking distance from the railway station and there is a wide selection of restaurants and shops in the area, too.

There is a taxi rank in front of the station, and most local buses have a stop in the close vicinity. Some long-distance intercity coaches also stop at or near the station.

From and to Helsinki, there is a train every hour, during rush hours even more frequently. Connections from other Finnish cities are also good.
