Pispala Schottische hosts the Finnish-Estonian Dance Festival 2012 in Tampere 13-17 June 2012, bringing folk dancers and musicians together in a celebration of dance.

Held simultaneously with the Dance Festival, Pispala Schottische Folk Dance Festival brings the spirit of international folklore to Tampere. The festival is expected to attract around 5,000 dancers, musicians and singers of different ages from Finland, Estonia and other European countries.

The climax of Dance Festival 2012 is an epic performance on Ratina Stadium 17 June. The performers are Finnish and Estonian folk dancers of all ages, from young children to experienced veterans. The performance tells the story of two brothers, Kalev and Kalevi. A Shout Out to the Sea, Bridge, Immersion, Lovely Ladies, Sauna Bath, Tango and the Union of Blood are parts of the dance performance.
